Some of St. Croix’s most memorable experiences happen when you leave the beach for a few hours. Ride horseback into the Caribbean, paddle through glowing water after dark, explore the island’s backroads by ATV, sail into a West End sunset, or play a round surrounded by tropical scenery.
You don’t need to fill every day. Pick an adventure or two that sounds like you, and leave plenty of time for doing absolutely nothing at all.
A few of our favorite ways to experience the island beyond the beach.

Choose one adventure, not three
St. Croix is better when you leave room in the day for an unplanned swim, a long lunch or an afternoon by the pool.
Reserve ahead for the experiences you really want
Horseback rides, bioluminescent tours and sunset sails can fill up during busier weeks.
Group your adventures geographically
Combine West End activities with Frederiksted and North Shore activities with Cane Bay instead of spending your vacation crisscrossing the island.
Dress accordingly
Between horses, kayaks, ATVs and boats, getting wet, dusty or muddy is part of the experience.
