Barbara’s work captures the color, warmth and personality of St. Croix, with vibrant scenes inspired by island life and the natural world. You’ve already seen some of her work at Oceans: the large original painting of sea turtles and marine life at Butler Bay in the stairwell is Barbara’s, as is the Moko Jumbie in the living room. A wonderful stop if you’d like to bring home a piece of St. Croix that will keep reminding you of the island long after your stay.

This small, wonderfully packed gallery brings together work from artists across St. Croix, with everything from original paintings and prints to pottery, sculpture and handmade Moko Jumbies. We have two pieces from Many Hands at Oceans, but half the fun of stopping in is meeting Bob, the gallery’s Irish owner. He’s a character, a storyteller and seemingly always ready for a conversation. Don’t be surprised if you go in to look at art and stay considerably longer than you planned. A great place to browse if you’d like to discover several local artists in one stop—and perhaps leave with a story along with whatever you bring home.

Rum has been part of St. Croix for centuries, and Cruzan remains the island’s best-known distillery. Tour the historic estate if you’re interested in how it’s made—or simply bring home a bottle of your favorite. We love the rum tasting that follows the tour.

Home of Mutiny Island Vodka, made with breadfruit and distilled right here on St. Croix. If you’re already heading to Sion Farm for Sunday brunch, it’s an easy opportunity to discover one of the island’s more unexpected local products. We love their T-shirts and sun shirts too.
