Come Hungry. St. Croix Is Delicious.

From candlelit dinners beside the Caribbean to lobster tacos in your swimsuit, St. Croix has a remarkably good food scene for a small island. The best part of staying at Oceans? Some of our favorite places are close enough to reach on foot.

INTRODUCTION

Island Flavor, from Beach Bars to Beautiful Dining Rooms

Dining on St. Croix is wonderfully varied. You can spend one night dressed up over beautifully prepared seafood and cocktails and the next eating rotisserie chicken and johnny cakes at a roadside institution.

We tend to choose restaurants as much for the experience as the menu: a table tucked into a seaside grotto, a breezy beach bar after a morning swim, a tropical courtyard in Christiansted, or a place where the owner remembers you when you come back.

These are the places we recommend to friends and guests — including the ones we return to ourselves.

A Few Dining Tips from Oceans

Reserve the places you really care about.
St. Croix operates on island time, but the best restaurants can fill quickly — especially during high season. We reserve special dinners before we arrive.

Check the schedule.
Restaurant hours on St. Croix can change seasonally, and many places close one or two days each week. Always check current hours before making the drive.

Don't judge by appearances.
Some of the most memorable food on St. Croix comes from places that look decidedly un-fancy. That's part of the experience.

Try something Crucian.
Make room between the fine-dining reservations for johnny cakes, roti, local fish, bush tea and other dishes that tell you something about the island you're visiting.

Ask what's fresh.
Menus and specials often depend on what fishermen and local farms have available. If there's a local catch or special you haven't tried, that's often the thing to order.
